Organize a week of content in Notion

A one-week calendar with status, assets, and a definition of done.

A free Notion workspace is enough to follow along. Paid plans are optional.

Steps

1. 01

   Create one database, not five notebooks

   Title, channel, status, publish date, asset, and a one-line takeaway. If a field does not change a decision, leave it out.

2. 02

   Write the week's jobs before the captions

   Each row should answer: who is this for, what should they understand, and what should they do. Captions come after that, not before.

3. 03

   Attach the actual file or link

   A calendar without the graphic, the cut, or the source photo is a wish list. Put the working file on the row.

4. 04

   Review in one sitting

   Once a week, mark what published, what slipped, and what can be reused. Do not rebuild the system because a single post was late.

Common mistakes

• Building a beautiful dashboard instead of publishing the week's work.
• Tracking twenty fields no one will update.
• Keeping the calendar in a private page the person who posts cannot open.
